An ACT Government School

The Charnwood-Dunlop School Parent and Citizen Association

Charnwood-Dunlop School has an active P&C Association which contribute significantly to the life of the school. The P&C Association promotes the educational welfare and interest of the school community by:

  • encouraging close co-operation among parents, students, School Board, school staff and the community
  • stimulating the interests of members in the school and in educational developments especially those in the ACT
  • providing desirable aids to education and supplementing the material requirements of the school

All P&C Association meetings are open sessions. Members are invited to raise matters of interest to them with members of the executive committee. All parents and guardians of children attending the school and all interested citizens are eligible for association membership, which is free. Active members of the association greatly benefit the whole school community of students, staff and parents. The P&C Association meets each month - February to November - excluding school holidays. All parents and citizens are welcome to attend.

The P&C organise a range of fund raising events and social activities. Our major fund raiser is the 'Charny Carny' held in March each year.  Funds raised are used to improve educational opportunities for our students.

In the past the P&C has purchased outdoor play equipment, air conditioning, furniture, books and landscaping.  We would love as many families as possible to be involved. It is a great way to get to know the school community and to make new friends.
