Charnwood-Dunlop School is an ACT government school situated in the Belconnen suburb of Charnwood. Our school is built on the land of the Ngunnawal people and caters for children from preschool to year 6. We offer integrating services including the Belconnen Primary Introductory English Centre, a Learning Support Unit and our after school care is provided by Belconnen Community Services.
At Charnwood-Dunlop School our vision is:
Together as a community of staff, students and families we will create a safe and empowering learning environment where wonder and curiosity are nurtured and every child is empowered to reach their full potential. We will value diversity and build respectful relationships through effective communication.
Our school vision is reflective of the importance we place on ensuring learning is child centred and reflective of the world in which we live. We ensure continuity for children in their learning and relationships through the implementation of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) approach. This is a well-researched framework for teaching school-wide expected positive behaviour and expectations. Our school focus is on being safe, respectful learners, enabling children to grow into responsible and successful members of our community.
We pay respect to the United Ngunnawal Elders Council and to the Elders both past and present of the Ngunnawal Nation for they hold the hopes and dreams for the future of the ACT and surrounding region.
