Meetings of the P&C

v     A forum for discussion facilitating the sharing of ideas, suggestions, concerns and problems of all the association’s members.  Concerns held by members unable to attend a meeting can be put forward by any other member of the association, including committee members.

v     Feedback from meetings held by the ACT Council of P&C Associations.  This body communicates directly with the department of education relaying concerns expressed by P&C Associations.

 

The P&C Association’s Role

v     Fundraising for school needs not accessible through the department’s budget.

v     Facilitating communication on issues between parents, teachers and students as individuals or groups.

v     Represents the majority opinion of the P&C within the school and outside organisations, e.g. ACT Council. Of P&C Associations. 

A venue where ‘special topics of interest’ are presented at the request of members. For example, topics such as school funding and school policies.   Requests for topics of interest are made through the Secretary.
